Vernard Kennedy is an educator with nearly 30 years of experience in the New York City public school system, including several years teaching at the middle school level. Over the course of his career, he has mentored hundreds of young men and developed impactful programs centered on character development, leadership, and personal growth.

As both a seasoned educator and the proud father of a 12-year-old son, Vernard understands firsthand the unique challenges and opportunities boys face during their middle school years. His work is driven by a deep commitment to helping young men build confidence, discover their strengths, and develop a strong sense of identity and purpose.

He is the founder of the ‘Self-Acceptance to Purpose’ initiative, a transformative program designed to equip middle school boys with the mindset, confidence, and practical tools they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Through structured mentorship, engaging workshops, and intentional community-building, the initiative empowers boys to embrace who they are while preparing for who they are becoming.

Deeply rooted in the St. Albans community, Vernard comes from a family devoted to service and leadership. His brother, Varrett Kennedy, serves as Pastor of Beth-Rapha Ministries International, and his brother, Verone Kennedy, is the founder of the Riverton School. Together, their shared commitment to education, faith, and community development reflects a family legacy dedicated to uplifting the next generation.

Vernard’s mission is clear: to build strong, confident, purpose-driven young men who are prepared not only to succeed—but to lead.
